The artists' group, Women's Work, have put out a call to women artists for their 2011 exhibition, HerStory, which will take place from 8 to 11 July at The Link Gallery, Winchester University. Women's Work organise an annual exhibition of art by women and have shown in a variety of spaces in North Hampshire for the past 14 years.
This year's exhibition will be of work which reflects narrative in content or approach. It can be either 2 or 3 dimensional and the size restrictions are given on their fact sheet. Their aim is to show work that demonstrates the breadth of art made by women.
Although the term HerStory was coined in the sixties and used in feminist literature, in this context they are using it in its simplest meaning - things told from the point of view of a woman.
The closing date for applications is Monday 9 May and you can find all the information you need at www.womenswork.org.uk.
